A recent residential weekend

Another sunny residential on the Isle of Wight brought young friends from Southampton and Alton together with young friends from Kingston, Wandsworth and Burgess Hill during the weekend of 14-16th September 2007.

For the second year our hosts at Sandown Youth Hostel shared their hospitality with this group of 21 Friends and their five 20+ helpers.

We used this weekend to relax and re-affirm our friendships with each other, spending Saturday digging sandcastles and swimming in a warmish sea!!  Sunday brought a little more cloud although we were still able to hold our Meeting for Worship on the beach and were joined by a few onlookers who were certainly intrigued by our 'Quaker Stretch' following our silence.

We continue to hold monthly Meetings at Winchester Friends Meeting House on the third Sunday of each month and welcome any young people between the ages of 11-18 years.  Our meeting starts at 10.30 a.m. and we offer a friendly lunch after this and finish by about 2 p.m.
